WHAT OUR SYMBOL REPRESENTS

wordpress logo

We have chosen to bridge our past with the present by superimposing the royal Sho family crest < Sho no Mon> (the three “tear drops” or “swirling waves” or “Mitsudomoe”), of the Ryukyu Kingdom, on top of (actually, within) the present day symbol of the Prefecture of Okinawa.  Finally, we’ve added a third dimension to the overall picture by placing the neck of a Sanshin (thus using the other parts to form the body) in the position that it would be played.
